Project Type: Healthcare
Skanska – Shook, a joint venture of Dayton based Shook Construction and the Nashville office of the national construction concern Skanska, has selected Huron Valley Glass to be the Design Assist Façade Contractor for the new Heart Tower at the at the downtown Dayton complex of Miami Valley Hospital, a Premier Healthcare Company.
Designed by Columbus based NBBJ Architects, this very large building is blended into the surrounding complex with a strong note of presence. Its signature double “boomerang” layout creates multiple varying facades. Starting with the sweeping East face, this project has multiple personalities from every view.
Huron Valley Glass will design and install nearly 180,000sf of HVU unitized curtainwall with multiple spandrel materials including acid etched glass, pattern frit glass, composite metal panels, and 3cm limestone. Additionally we will install entrances, louvers, and parking garage screens.
The very successful HVU unitized curtainwall system, produced in our nearby Massillon, Ohio plant, is the primary system throughout. This project represents the second major project using the HVU system for NBBJ Architects, following on the heels of the Grange Insurance Headquarters.
