In completing this advanced technology research lab, part of the University of Michigan Engineering complex, HVG used several different Kawneer custom curtainwall systems.

Unique exterior sightlines and projections where a very important part of the curtainwall system. In addition HVG incorporated a decorative channel shaped metal panel above and below the curtainwall. These panels where integrated into the curtainwall in a rainscreen fashion with a separate air barrier system.

Designed by Portland Oregon based, Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership, a firm with a national reputation of impressive Institutional structures, the design is accentuated with a dramatic building entrance and atrium, accented by the trapezoidal sloping canopy accomplished by HVG with composite panels.
