Project Type: Commercial
This landmark architectural endeavor by renowned Architect Rafeal Vinoly, includes crystal like structures at two different areas of the new addition. This project includes one of the most sophisticated uses of glass as a structural building element and required a special team of experts.
HVG enlisted the design services of MERO-TSK of Wurzburg Germany to engineer, and fabricate the glass and stainless steel components that make up this undertaking.
The Gallery space and connecting corridor includes a 28’ tall structural glass box all fabricated from low iron glass, imported from Germany. In most cases the glass is the primary structural component of the building. The corridor with glass rafters, glass bridges and glass roof will truly be an amazing space and one of the most complicated uses of structural glass in the United States.
HVG is also responsible to place a unitized skylight assembly on the entire roof of the 1916 historic building, as well as various other high performance curtainwalls and windows. Don’t miss the freestanding structural glass elevator enclosure; it is a truly unique and intriguing structure. |
